ENDEMOL’S ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE GOES GLOBAL

Endemol International today announced its critically acclaimed horror series Dead Set has been picked up in four new territories.

The 6 x 30 minute drama, which tells the terrifying story of a zombie attack on the Big Brother house, has been snapped up by both Canal+ and a major free to air channel in Spain (details of which currently remain confidential), SBS in Australia, BBC Entertainment in Africa and TV400 in Sweden. Further deals are under negotiation in major territories and are expected to be announced soon.

Tom Toumazis, Chief Commercial Officer of Endemol Group comments: "Dead Set is clever, thrilling, funny and genuinely scary. Not only is it brilliantly written but it has been cinematically executed and its blackly comic take on the world of Big Brother makes it one of a kind. We already have a number of further international deals pending for the show and we expect today's announcement to be the first of many."

The country has a huge problem. The dead are returning to life and attacking the living. The people they kill get up and kill - and it's spreading like wildfire. Curiously, there are a few people left who aren't worried about any of this - that's because they're the remaining contestants in Big Brother. Cocooned in the safety of the Big Brother house, they're blissfully unaware of the horrific events unfolding outside. Until an eviction night when all hell breaks loose...

Over the ensuing days, in a cruel reflection of the game show they thought they were entering, the contestants fall victim, one by one, to the hungry masses outside. Staying alive requires teamwork - which is tricky when you're a group specifically selected by TV producers to wind each other up...

Dead Set was shot in high definition and received widespread critical acclaim in the UK where it was broadcast on Channel 4 having become one of the highest rating series ever on its sister channel E4. The TV broadcasts were followed up with a nationwide DVD release of a full length movie version.
