The level of interest generated by the new format at Mip TV this April has prompted Endemol to invest millions in building what is set to be the world's biggest TV obstacle course, located in Argentina. This will be used for back to back productions of Wipeout for broadcasters all over the world.
The new location will mirror that of Endemol USA's version of the format for ABC in the USA. Details of the line up of broadcasters that have followed ABC's example by signing up to the show remain confidential at this stage although Endemol expects to make announcements in the near future.
Mike Morley, Senior Executive Director, Commercial and Creative Affairs at Endemol International comments: "Wipeout's obstacle course is a visual feast, designed to create both high-drama and pure slapstick. The scale of this undertaking is almost unprecedented but it will allow us to deliver very significant cost efficiency savings to broadcasters around the world."
Wipeout is a truly action-packed competition game show that sees contestants from all walks of life compete for a grand cash prize in grueling and hilarious rounds across extreme obstacle courses. Packed with muscle, grit, entertainment, action, impact and spectacular wipeouts, this really is survival of the fittest.
