ENDEMOL LAUNCHES NEW OPERATION IN BRAZIL

Endemol, a world leader in entertainment programming, today announced it is significantly growing its presence in Brazil with the launch of Endemol Brasil - a new fully owned regional production operation.

Endemol Brasil will produce a wide range of entertainment programming for the Brazilian TV market, drawing from Endemol's global library of content. The new company is headed up by Managing Director Daniela Busoli, who was new business director at Matisse advertising agency, Advertising Director at Portal IG, New Business and Commercial Manager at SBT and has most recently been in charge of Action Media, Endemol's local participation TV operation. All Action Media's activities will now be taken over by Endemol Brasil.

Working with Daniela at Endemol Brasil will be Head of Production Paula Cavalcanti. Paula was programming and production director at TVA and production director at SBT. More recently, her independent production company, REX, was responsible for productions for Bandeirantes, Discovery, People + Arts and others.

Alongside Endemol Brasil, Endemol Globo, the group's 50/50 joint venture with leading Brazilian broadcaster TV Globo, will continue to be a major producer of entertainment programming for TV Globo. While Endemol Globo will exclusively produce for TV Globo, Endemol Brasil will be serving the rest of the Brazilian market.

Marco Bassetti, Chief Operating Officer of Endemol comments: "The launch of Endemol Brasil means that for the first time we have a fully owned local production operation in this important territory where we have already established a strong and growing presence. Combining this new enterprise with the ongoing success of our joint venture with Globo will significantly reinforce our position in this market."

Daniela Busoli adds: "Endemol has already proven that there is a big appetite for its formats in Brazil and there is huge potential for us to build on that. I'm extremely excited about taking on this challenge and I have every confidence that Endemol Brasil is set to become a leading player here."

Numerous Endemol shows are already hits in Brazil including Big Brother (now in its 9th series), Pulsação (Heartbeat), Circo do Faustão (Circus of the Celebrities), Dança dos Famosos (Strictly Dancing) and Fama (Operacion Triunfo).
