Brand new Talpa game show, Divided, has been commissioned by RTL 4 in the Netherlands and is due to air in a prime time slot starting late summer. This follows the news earlier this week that Abu Dhabi TV in the Middle East has taken a first series of the show.
Also new to Mip is Game show format I love My country, which has been picked up by RTL 4 in the Netherlands. The show has just begun its seven week run in a Saturday night prime time slot, and has become an instant hit with audiences of up to 1.4 million viewers and a 21.2% share - well above the broadcaster's slot average and RTL 4's best primetime launch in 2008.
In Germany a special prime time edition of Let's go Shopping has been snapped up by ZDF and is due to broadcast in May.
Entertainment format M/F has been taken up in four new territories. Star TV in Turkey and SIC in Portugal have both commissioned prime time runs of the show and a first series recently went to air on Antena 1 in Romania. This follows the news this week that MBC in the Middle East will launch a first series in October.
Endemol also revealed earlier this week that Talpa's ‘no talent' show Top of the Flops has been commissioned in the Middle East by Abu Dhabi TV.
Maarten Meijs, who joined Endemol in October last year to drive worldwide sales of TalpaMedia's catalogue comments: "These formats are proving to be an extremely valuable addition to Endemol's portfolio. Their popularity with broadcasters around the world is paying real dividends and we are expecting them to generate a lot of interest at next week's market."
