Headlining this year's portfolio is the gripping new psychological competition format Estate of Panic, which sees contestants hunt for life changing cash in a huge country house filled with terrifying challenges. The show is due to make its world premier in the USA this November on the Sci Fi Channel. Replicating the production model for global blockbuster Wipeout, Endemol has built an international set for Estate of Panic in Argentina, which will drive down costs for broadcasters around the world.
This year's highlights also include Endemol UK's latest format Spinstar, which brings the thrills, unpredictability and big money gamble of the casino into the game show studio. A first series of thirty episodes has been snapped up by ITV1 in the UK and is due to premier later this year.
Another new format from Endemol UK is Conveyor Belt of Love. This highly original, high octane and hilarious ‘dating show meets talent show' format sees women in search of love choosing between a succession of hopefuls...literally on a conveyer belt.
New in the talent show category is You are the Star, which gives ordinary people the chance to impress the audience with their performance and win a cash prize.
Also debuting at Mipcom is First and Last, a brand new game show format featuring a series of nail biting rounds where the trick is to avoid coming first or last to reach the big prize. Joining this in the game show category is For Love or for Money which sees voice analysing technology reveal if couples are being truthful about the the questions they'd rather not answer. The show made its world debut on Telefe in Argentina earlier this year.
Adding to the broad mix of shows debuting at Mipcom this year are a line up of new Talpa formats exclusively distributed by Endemol International. These include entertainment format Guesstimation, dating show Hungry for love, and reality formats Celebrities on Welfare and Can't Buy Me Love.
This year's market will also see Endemol unveiling a never seen before global game show format, details of which are due to be revealed at an exclusive showcase in Cannes on Tuesday 14th October.
Paul Romer, Endemol's newly appointed Global Head of Programming comments: "Our creative network continues to generate new global formats at a phenomenal rate and this is one of the most extensive portfolios of debuting shows we've ever taken to Cannes. It's a fantastic line up of reality, entertainment and game shows with huge international potential."
