Endemol, a world leader in entertainment programming, today announced a number of Group level promotions

Chief Operating Officer Marco Bassetti has been appointed President of Endemol Group, taking on a non-executive advisory role. Mr. Bassetti, who is part of the Endemol Management Board, will continue to work closely with and report to Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Ynon Kreiz. In his capacity, Mr. Bassetti will be responsible for senior client relationships, lead special projects and help manage the implementation of the company's growth strategy, including major acquisitions.

The management of Endemol's operating companies around the world will now report directly into Ynon Kreiz who will take on Mr. Bassetti's operational responsibilities.

Global Head of Programming Paul Römer joins the Endemol Management Board as Chief Creative Officer, reporting to Ynon Kreiz. Mr. Römer will continue to lead Endemol's creative processes and manage the Global Creative Team, the group's network of creative leaders around the world. In his capacity he is in charge of further expanding and building on Endemol's porfolio of entertainment properties across all genres including entertainment, reality TV, game shows, comedy and drama.

Endemol's Chief Commercial Officer Tom Toumazis' role has been broadened to incorporate sports, participation TV, branded entertainment as well as consumer products and marketing. Toumazis will now work closely with Endemol Sport's Joint Managing Directors, Lawrence Duffy and Gregg Oldfield, as well as Global Head of Marketing and Brand Partnerships, Paul Johnson and Global head of Participation TV, Dennis Janzen. This is in addition to Toumazis' existing responsibilities, which include overseeing Endemol and Southern Star's merged distribution business, headed up by recently appointed CEO Cathy Payne.

Ynon Kreiz comments: "These promotions underline the leading roles that Marco, Paul and Tom are playing in Endemol's commercial and creative strategy. In today's climate it is more important than ever to have the most effective management structure in place and we couldn't ask for more highly skilled and experienced executives at the forefront of our business."

Marco Bassetti first joined Endemol in December 1997 and was Managing Director of Endemol Italia until he was appointed President in 2001. In 2004, Mr. Bassetti became a member of Endemol's International Board and Global Creative Team, while remaining as a consultant to Endemol Italia. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Endemol Group in October 2007.

Paul Römer has been with Endemol for twelve years and was one of the key creative minds working alongside John De Mol developing the Big Brother format, which he Executive Produced in 1999. He became Managing Director of Endemol Netherlands in September 2002 as well as a senior member of the group's Global Creative Team. Mr. Römer took up his role of Global Head of Programming in September 2008.

Tom Toumazis joined Endemol in early 2009 having previously been Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Canada where he was in charge of programming, new media and channel distribution. During his seven years at Disney, Mr. Toumazis held a number of top level positions and under his stewardship the business trebled.

The promotions take place with immediate effect.
