When Julia, a successful lawyer living in Amsterdam, decided on a whim to visit her home town of Buenos Aires with her best friend Marjolein, she had no idea what a profound effect it would have on her and those close to her. For when she arrives, she instinctively knows she won't be leaving anytime soon!
Julia's aunt Maria and cousin Pia are on the verge of selling the family home, now barely recognisable from the place Julia remembers. Seeing an opportunity to help the family, Julia impulsively stops the sale, deciding instead to transform the house into a Bed & Breakfast. Sacrificing her career in Holland, she enlists the help of Marjolein, Pia and Jacqueline, an old friend and the four women get to work.
But the project soon proves more ambitious than the girls imagined and perhaps impossible without their mutual support and indomitable spirit. Their kinship also enables Julia to choose between Dutch boyfriend Bas and Argentinean love Raul; Marjolein to confront her uncompromising mother; Pia to fall in love for the first time and Jacqueline to overcome the loss of her baby and save her marriage.
It's not all hard work though - as the girls make time to enjoy the vibrancy of Buenos Aires. Dealing with themes of ambition, love and friendship and underscored by the sultry, enchantment of the tango, Julia's Tango is destined to move the audience in every way possible!
