Fernando de la Torre, son and heir of one of the capital’s most prestigious families is certainly enjoying this new freedom and does not want to take on the responsibilities that come with his name and position. He is caught between an arranged marriage to Mercedes León, also a rich heiress, and Alejandra Prado, the caretaker’s republican daughter who reappears in his life. Like the country itself, Fernando is torn between two worlds.
