Formats

Endemol has a growing library of over 2000 formats, with over 50 new formats commissioned around the world each year, across genres including entertainment, reality TV, game shows, animation, comedy and drama. The company’s creative teams around the world are continuously developing new ideas that are shared across the Endemol network – and hundreds more formats are added to its portfolio every year. Endemol produces local versions of these shows for leading broadcasters all over the world.

Drama and Comedy

Over the last five years Endemol has expanded its scripted programming business by 75% to become a leading producer and distributor of drama and comedy. This includes scripted formats which can be locally adapted for any territory. Endemol’s growing drama and comedy slate includes major US and UK productions such as Ripper Street (BBC ONE), Hell On Wheels (AMC), Benidorm (ITV1), Black Mirror (Channel 4); Bad Education (E4); Prisoners’ Wives (BBC One); Peaky Blinders (BBC Two); and a wide range of scripted output in territories including Australia, India, Russia, Germany, France, Holland, Italy, Spain and Argentina.

Distribution

The division uses its expertise, resources and global network to offer internal and third party producers, content owners and creative talent the best, broadest and most innovative distribution service. Endemol Worldwide Distribution prides itself on its attention to focused marketing and effective and timely producer reporting. Endemol Worldwide Distribution has a library of over 30,000 hours of content. This includes Endemol-created and third-party drama, reality TV, factual, game shows, entertainment, children’s programming, animation and comedy. Our clients currently comprise around 400 broadcasters, licensees and producers. The division is managed by CEO Cathy Payne.

Commercial

With global brands that are recognized worldwide, attracting international fan bases and crossing over into all forms of content, Endemol has a rapidly growing commercial business in areas including digital video, gaming, apps, brand relations and more. Driving this expansion is a Group Commercial Board, comprising senior Endemol executives from around the world. The role of the Board is to connect and coordinate with the local teams in each market, ensuring that new ideas and commercial developments are shared across the Endemol network, as well as to initiate and lead international projects.
